For those of you unfamiliar with Meglex we offer a story of intrigue, adventure, Star Wars, and two geeks separated by the Atlantic Ocean.
Our story begins five long years ago, our hero, Alex, was working at his local Blockbuster. He was minding his own business when a lady walked in intent on renting a Wes Anderson film. He told this young woman that he not only loved the film she was renting (Rushmore) but also the Star Wars t-shirt she was wearing. Needless to say she was as smitten. So the two went about their lives, she unaware of his crush on her, and he unaware she was finding every opportunity to go rent a movie and see him. They noticed each other at the midnight showing of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith but neither thought the feeling was mutual. Our hero was told of his maiden’s feelings by her youngest brother in an impromptu conversation.
Their lives took them in different directions and so our story moves ahead five years. After thinking about her and what she was up to for the thousandth time, our hero bravely scanned the pages of Facebook looking for the never “his” Meg Pruitt. He found her and after two days of debate, added her. Still unsure if she would know who he was. She unaware our hero even knew her name. After reconnecting and building a friendship it was quite clear there was still a romance between them. His vulgar humor and brash personality won her over. While her intelligence and laid back attitude gave him even more reason to have feelings. Add in a heaping helping of common interests and you have the start of something great.
